My Approach

Cathleen is an expert fitness trainer, yoga teacher, health coach, and esteemed positive body image advocate. She teaches attainable and sustainable paths to happiness, health, and self-love. Cathleen began her health and wellness career in 1987 while living in Hawaii and has devoted more than 32 years of her life to training and educating clients.

Cathleen has worked in many areas of the health and wellness industry. She coached Army cheerleaders and college athletic teams at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. She conducted continuing education for fitness instructors in Lubbock, TX. She spearheaded anti-childhood obesity outreach programs and initiatives. Her work as a certified fitness instructor, personal trainer, health coach, writer and yoga teacher has changed thousands of lives.

Cathleen co-owns a successful yoga studio in Tennessee and a travel company, Twisted Sisters Travel. Her yoga practice had a great impact on her own life, and drawing from her experiences, she incorporated yoga into her fitness training services. “I loved yoga, but it was just another fitness activity until cancer struck. After cancer, I lived yoga. When I lost my hair, yoga didn’t care how I looked. When I felt betrayed by my body, the yoga mat welcomed me. Yoga was therapeutic and a place of acceptance and healing for me during and after my diagnosis.” Her memoir “Badass and Bendy,” tells her journey as a breast cancer survivor and how yoga helped her through the mental and physical struggles of the illness.

As a health coach, Cathleen helps people strengthen their mindset and make lasting changes to improve their overall well-being. She believes that everyone has the power to change, but they have to learn the tools that truly work for them. Through her individual health coaching services, she tailors plans for every client and supports them on their journey.

Cathleen is an eRYT 500 yoga instructor and a continuing education provider for Yoga Alliance. Additionally, Cathleen is a level one and two Reiki practitioner and is certified in group fitness instruction, weight management, and behavior change by the American Council on Exercise. She has a master’s degree in business education (MBE) from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and holds a graduate certificate in creative writing from MTSU Write.

When she's not working with clients, Cathleen speaks to businesses, civic organizations and support groups. Her topics range from positive thinking and finding joy to practicing yoga and limiting stress in the workplace. "I love helping people. One of my favorite things to do is to help people see themselves as beautiful, strong and successful."
