Morphing into Glory
This is our first fall in our new home. On October 1st, I decided to do a chronicle of the changes in the beautiful maple tree in our front yard. It’s a maple tree so I assumed the leaves would be beautiful. I love our new house and yard so I could not imagine anything but magnificence.
What I did not imagine were my personal emotions and how they would change with the tree. I saw the beauty of this tree in its spring and summer glory. As the leaves began to change, I saw an even greater beauty as the tree morphed into its fall glory.
I have no idea how old this tree is. I have no idea how many more falls this tree will see. But this fall, with this tree, showed its strength, its beauty, and its true foundational strength. now because of each season in each time in my life.
You know, people are like that. There is beauty in every stage of our life. I think about all of the falls I have had in my life. I don’t think of life as being one big season but of being many seasons rolled into one.
The seasons I have had in my life:
Childhood
Teenage years
The young adult trying on different facades for who she was going to be.
The mother.
Breast cancer.
The divorcee.
The newly married woman starting a new life with a new husband.
Each of the seasons in my life have been a time of change. In all of the seasons I have gone through in my life, I have learned and grown during them and maybe because of them. I am who I am now because of each season in each time in my life.
Some of the times in my life… spring may have been the most glorious, others summer may have filled my life with joy and sunshine, in some, and in many, Fall has filled my life with color, joy, blessings and hope then there is winter… ah winter... winter for me is not a time of cold, dreary days. Winter, for me, is a time to allow growth to happen and to see the pure beauty of the changes within myself.
This tree, this year.
My new home.
My loving husband and family.
We have sat down our roots here.
I have no idea how old this tree is. I have no idea how many more falls this tree will see. But this fall, with this tree, showed its strength, its beauty and its true foundational strength.
